Wrong Way!!
I remember my dad telling me this story when I was very young.
Interesting TV
Given that there’s continued interest in solving the “what next” issue around television, this presentation seems like an interesting idea.
Letters from Rio
So – after the first couple of days on my holidays, here are my initial impressions of Rio de Janeiro and Brazil.
Once I got over the initial fear of everything (I live a sheltered life in Ireland), the place is really nice.
The accommodation is nice and very hospitable. The staff and guests are social and the bar downstairs is a good place to return to and recount the day’s experiences.
On Monday we visited an old part of Rio called St. Teresa. I was a good bit more relaxed than the busy Copacabana in which we are based. The guide on the tour was from ther area so he spoke with great enthusiasm about the district and the changes that have gone on in it.
On Tuesday, we took a Favela Tour with Be A Local. It was an interesting way to see a different side to Rio that is not talked about that much in such a positive context. Also the motorbike ride to the top was an experience and a half.
Wednesday, the weather was a bit dodgey and so the hang gliding was cancelled for the afternoon. I rescheduled for today and we went to a local football game instead. The poor Boca fans got a hiding both on and off the pitch.
And then hang gliding today. It was really good fun.

Youngme NowMe
While Paul and Dave talk and post about photography quite a bit, I rarely have anything relevant to add to the conversation. So now I do.
This is an interesting project. To paraphrase, “its like a small story told in 2 pictures”.
Patio Updated
I was going to wait until I’d planted the grass, here’s the latest from the garden.
We added a gravel area for the furniture.
Thanks again to Dave for helping with the levelling out of the rest of the lawn.
Carbon Updated!
Following on from talking about the upcoming Dopplr addition of a carbon footprint meter using AMEE was release today. So I had a look. Easy to add and private by default. Easy! If you travel a bit and don’t have an account yet, Dopplr seems to be one of the lesser evil social network type sites.
Passenger
Finally, Ruby gets the Apache mod it needs. Great news.
Upgrade!
Following Paul‘s problems with not upgrading, I decided that the new version of WordPress was shiny enough to justify my time upgrading to it. So there it is…. ehh looks pretty much the same for readers but I’m sure as I try out some of the new features on the admin side, some new features will begin to pop up.
